Winter competition: Penny drop.

Nice easy competition.

A penny is ejected from a rocket on a suitable recovery device, steamer, parachute, tumble cylinder etc.

If it lands within 10 strides from the launch pad, you get a raffle ticket.

At May’s meeting the raffle is drawn.

Only 1 penny per rocket.

RSO must be happy with the penny’s recovery system.

Minimum of a B motor to be used.

Penny must be ejected. (core samples/lawndarts/catos not allowed)

10 strides is at RSO discression.

Prize: 3 packs of estes motors.

Can it be launched from a monocopter, or does it need to be from a rocket?

as long as it's ejected, and rocket variation is allowed – although the mass on a penny could affect the balance of a monocopter, so you would have to convince an RSO that the modification made to the monocopter still gave a stable flight.
