Welcome to Midland Rocketry
Midland Rocketry was setup by 3 Range Safety Officers in 2006 who wanted to help bring Rocketry to children (they are the next generation who will live through one of the exciting times of Rocketry - Project Orion) and adults in the Midlands.
We fly Low Power Rockets to High Power Rockets using BP, AP or Nitrous Oxide from our own site at Tywcross.
We are affiliated to the UK Rocket Association (
UKRA) and always fly by their Safety Code.
We welcome teachers of schools/universities who want to bring a little rocket science to their school activities, likewise leaders of other social groups who wants to educate children in rocketry.
Come and fly with us
It you are into Model Rockets as a seasoned flyer or new to the hobby and just starting out then we would be glad to have you come and fly with us. Our usual flying site is
Twycross 1 and we fly every 2nd Sunday of the Month. To see when the next event is on look to your left in the Site Information Box you will see our Forthcoming Events. For more information you can read the documents under Club Documents on the right hand side of this page or contact us directly using our
contact page.
Website Access
The Registration facility is disabled by default (So do not try and use it to create an account. It won't work!)
Access to the members areas is only available to paid up club members. To become a paid up member you must first pay the membership fee. Details from the membership forms are then used to create your online presence on the Midland Rocketry website.
Club membership means you can help make Midland Rocketry better by partaking in online Club discussions and online decision making.
Remember this Club is about making rocketry fun, and we can only do this if YOU are happy flying within a happy and friendly environment, so join as a member now and make new friends.
Insurance
Everyone who attends and flys at Midland Rocketry must be a member of UKRA or the BMFA, this way you will be insured when you let your prized rocket reach for the sky. If you are new to the hobby (not yet a UKRA/BMFA member) and want to press that magical launch button you may do so under the Buddy Insurance scheme for 3 sequential events only. (eg. January, February and March). Please read our Insurance page
Rocketry Workshops
Since forming this club in late 2006 we have been asked and have now run several workshops on an ad-hoc basis, so now we have thought it is the right time to officially offer it out as a proper service for Scout Troops (Especially towards the Astronautics Badge), Schools, University, Youth Group etc. Please read our Rocketry Workshop page
We hope you enjoy Midland Rocketry and this Web Site. If you need to contact us, then please do so using the form here.
