Welcome to Midland Rocketry
Midland Rocketry was setup by 3 Range Safety Officers who wanted to help bring Rocketry to children (they are the next generation who will live through one of the exciting times of Rocketry - Project Orion) and adults in the Midlands.
We fly Low Power Rockets to High Power Rockets using BP, AP or Nitrous Oxide from our own site at Tywcross.
We are affiliated to the UK Rocket Association (
UKRA) and always fly by their Safety Code.
We welcome teachers of schools/universities who want to bring a little rocket science to their school activities, likewise leaders of other social groups who wants to educate children in rocketry.
Midland Rocketry is a private club and is not open for general public access.
So please do not turn up un-invited. You must use the Invite facility (top left hand side of screen) if you want to attend a Midland Rocketry event for the first time either as a flyer or spectator.
If you can not see the Invite Me facility then click here. We do this so we can control who accesses the club and its flying sites.
Website Access
The Registration facility is disabled by default (So do not try and use it to create an account. It won't work!)
Access to the members areas is only available to paid up club members. To become a paid up member you must first ask for an Invite, attend an event and then pay the membership fee. Details from the membership form are then used to create your online presence on the Midland Rocketry website.
Club membership means you can help make Midland Rocketry better by partaking in online Club discussions and online decision making.
Remember this Club is about making rocketry fun, and we can only do this if YOU are happy flying within a appy and friendly environment, so join as a member now.
Insurance
Everyone who attends and flys at Midland Rocketry must be a member of UKRA or the BMFA, this way you will be insured when you let your prized rocket reach for the sky. If you are new to the hobby (not yet a UKRA/BMFA member) and want to press that magical launch button you may do so under the Buddy Insurance scheme for 3 sequential events only. (eg. January, February and March). Please read our Insurance page
Competitions
We also have a yearly competition running, this is designed to help you understand rocketry by designing and building a rocket to meet the
BARF challenge altitude
We hope you enjoy Midland Rocketry and this Web Site. If you need to contact me, then please do so using the form here.
